Greg Knapp, a longtime NFL assistant coach who was employed by the Jets final January as a passing sport specialist, died Thursday of accidents he suffered in a bicycling accident final weekend in California. He was 58.
Knapp’s household introduced by the Jets that Knapp died at 2:32 p.m. ET (11:32 a.m. PT) Thursday.
“These of us who have been so blessed to have identified him, know that he would have needed even this second to be a teachable one. So that is it . . . ‘Reside day by day as if it is your final, and love these round you prefer it will not final!'” the household stated in its assertion.
Knapp was struck by a automobile on the afternoon of July 17 as he was biking in San Ramon, Calif., within the San Francisco Bay Space. He was hospitalized in crucial situation. His household stated he by no means regained consciousness.
A police spokeswoman in San Ramon, Lt. Tami Williams, stated Tuesday (per The Related Press) that the driving force of the automobile was cooperating and that medicine or alcohol didn’t seem like an element within the crash.

Knapp is survived by his spouse, Charlotte; three daughters: Jordan, Natalie and Camille; and his brother.
