Deion Sanders continues to influence the hiring process in Colorado.
On Thursday, Coach Prime made his final splash, flipping five-star cornerback Cormani McClain of Miami.
McClain, an athlete from Lakeland, Florida, who announced his decision Thursday, had been associated with Miami since October. According to 247 Sports, he was the top-rated cornerback in his class. He is also ranked as the No. 13 overall prospect by 247, No. 10 overall by On3, and No. 4 overall by ESPN. In addition to Miami, McClain also had scholarship offers from Alabama, Georgia, Michigan, Ohio State, and many others.

This is Sanders’ first five-star recruit as a Colorado coach, though he also landed top cornerback last year—five-star Travis Hunter—while at Jackson State, and Hunter followed Sanders to Colorado.
247 currently ranks Colorado’s 2023 recruiting class as the 29th best in the country, fifth best in the Pac-12. If you include transfers, Colorado ranks 19th overall and third in the Pac-12.
